Some of my favorites both for inspiration and appreciation are the Sprawl Trilogy by William Gibson, the Firefly duology by Peter Watts, Teixcalaan duology by Arkady Martime, Zones of Thought by Vernor Vinge, The Hyperion Cantos quadrilogy by Dan Simmons, Murderbot Series by Martha Wells, The Foundation Series By Isaac Asimov, Remembrance of Earth’s past by Cixin Liu, and Children of Time by Adrian Tchaikovsky.

Yes I know, the main page has an animal & nature novella on it but I promise I have an epic space opera in progress. Should be done by the end of the year.
