UNTITLED SPACE OPERA
“No, no. Eden isn’t here to take sides. She gives reborn a chance to reconcile their own worldview with the universe around them. That’s what the path is, essentially.”
This new book promises a story genre savvy readers will find refreshing, including a new take on resurrection and the weaponization of gravity itself.
Seven years ago this story was a screenplay. The screenplay suffered a page one rewrite, underwent numerous rounds of feedback with critique partners, and then sat for a year. Then I picked it back up, and it underwent another nearly complete rewrite from a revised outline. This third version went through some local writer’s workshops, families and friends. Then, again, it simmered.
NaNoWriMo 2023 came and I answered the call, finally giving this story the space and page count it needed to breath. The first draft came out at 120,000 words and did the story a strange justice.
We are (me and my 8 critique partners, plus my editors at Page & Proof) four months in to the edits and the end is in sight.
an adult hard science-fiction space opera complete at 90,000 words. Readers of Children of Time will appreciate the heart pounding, nonstop action that keeps you guessing, while those looking for the complex world-building and the hard science of Blindsight will find lots to love.
Keep an eye out for it in early 2025.
